The
Brazilian College of Animal Reproduction (CBRA) and the Local Organizing
Committee cordially invite you to participate in the II International
Symposium on Animal Biology of Reproduction (ISABR 2008) to be held on
November 19-22, 2008 in São Paulo, SP, Brazil. The first of these series of
symposia (ISABR 2006) was held two years ago and was mostly focused on testis
function and spermatogenesis. This year’s symposium (ISABR 2008) will have
mainly focus on the ovary, more specifically folliculogenesis, ovulation,
and
luteolysis. The symposium will be held in honor of Dr. R.H.F. Hunter (University
of Cambridge, UK) and a
tribute to
his lifetime contributions to reproductive biology.
The main
goal of the symposium will be to provide a forum for exchange of ideas and
current concepts about ovarian function. The symposium, besides contributing to
our better understanding in this area, is expected to generate basic as well as
applied knowledge to be incorporated into clinical or field situations to
enhance or control fertility and to treat, reduce, and/or eliminate ovarian
dysfunctions and cancer. This symposium will be a very unique opportunity for
scientists, clinicians, embryologists, and graduate students from different
countries to share experiences in the exciting area of reproductive biology.
The
scientific program will include original and review presentations on important
current and frontier topics (see the highlights below) related to the recent
advances in ovarian function in animals and women. Invited speakers and workshop
and poster presenters will cover a broad range of topics on ovarian function
such as: folliculogenesis, follicle selection, ovulation, angiogenesis, luteal
function, luteolysis, neuroendocrinology, cellular and molecular aspects,
oocytes, embryos, ultrasonography, cryopreservation, tissue grafting, assisted
reproductive technologies, transgenics animals, as well as specific topics about
male reproduction.
Welcome to this exciting Symposium and to Brazil!
Eduardo L.
Gastal
President of
